the kitties are getting sick.. they have snot in their eyes and noses.. I think its cause they are so bored in that little room now. They really need to get back to the shelter and be adopted.. charlie still needs to put on a tad more weight though. its a really nice day here.. a little too nice for the end of september.. I am stuck on my homework since I need office 02 and I only have office 97.. so I need to find a copy of office 02 I can use.. *considers software piracy*.. wonder if you can "rent" it.. :)

Charlie almost fell out the window the other day.. the window with the AC in it only has cardboard on one side to keep the window "closed".. and he pushed right through it. I have no idea why he didn't go right out the window.. and wouldn't that have just killed me even if it didn't kill him.. (one and a half stories above the ground)

Oooh.. the season premier of enterprise is on now.. gtg

For our light and momentary troubles are
achieving for us an eternal glory that far
outweighs them all.

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but
on what is unseen. For what is seen is
temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

2 Corinthians 4:17-18
Ive been a little MIA lately.. Hubster is on vaca.. lets see.. monday.. I went to the shelter to help them 'cash out' from their annual fundraiser of strut your mutt. they raised about 20k.. very cool. Tuesday, well that is a shelter day, and since I went in on monday I didn't go. I played with the kitties, did a little shopping, went to the Outback steak house for dinner. MAN they make good steak. They also had a cheee and onion soup that was wicked. Wednesday.. exercised and hurt myself. My knee had been acting up (yes.. its favorite is shakespear) and so I was trying to take it easy lifting, which means going slower, which is how your supposed to do it anyway for maxium benifit, but well anyway, now my butt is soar, and my legs, and yes.. that shakespearian knee.. Thursday.. Ken's birthday.. HAPPY BIRTHDAY KEN!! (not that he reads this or anything) started the day off by going to the zoo. I hadn't been in years and I had wanted to go all summer. (they are only open till sunday... I wonder what they do with the animals in the winter) got on the turnpike and in the construction zone we got behind a cop. We saw a car come up and pass us going about 20 mph over the speed limit. the cop was quite a distance in front of us at that point so we were waiting and waiting for her break lights to come on when she saw him, but she didn't. and boom.. he pulled her over. it was quite humorous. There were a number of people in the car, so they must have just been gabbing along and were not paying attention.

The zoo was ok. Its a little small, and the elephant was off display. The bunnies which are the first "exhibit" you see when you walk in were making a dig for it.. The bunnies, the elephant, and the lions and tigers are about the only animals with names I can pronounce let alone spell so I'll just skip to the interesting parts. Ok.. bunnies.. then some primates, then some ducks. They have a large pond in the middle of the park that you have to walk around to get to the other side. There used to be (and still are you just can't use them) bridges to walk over the pond, but apparently they are unsafe. The pond was disgusting.. very very green and murky and covered with duck feathers. there was a black duck with red something or other over its face.. quite ugly.. we called it the klingon duck. Once on the other side of the pond, we went through some doors. the sign on them said large petting herds.. so I figured they would be walking around there, but they weren't. This is where the lion and tiger pens were. I must say they were very sad. The tiger just had a long rectangular box type chain link fenced in area with eletrified fencing and barbed wire at the top. No tree to climb, no rocks to play on.. nothing. The white tiger had pretty much the same set up, but he had a cement pool to lounge around in with a hump and a log to play with. He also had a tarp over the top of his cage for a bit of shade, but it was so in the wrong spot. The lions had a bigger set up, even had a nice "tree" in there. It was a nice set up for the people, as the cats could get VERY close to you.. but not all that nice for the cats I would think.

a few more primates, a colorful squirrel, a few llamas, and then the petting herd.. it was a bunch of deer. They were adorable, so in we went. MAN those things are worse than goats. They were nibbling and eating my shirt.. I had to run away from them (litterly) to tuck it in so they wouldn't tear it off my body. Didn't stop them from trying, but it was harder to get in their mouth now so I had "won". there were dispeners of food for a quarter, but we had no change. One of the deer went up to the dispenser (looks like a gumball machine) and flipped up the lid as if to show us what to do. When they realized we didn't have any food and weren't getting any, most of them broke up and went away, except a brown one and one other. a baby deer showed up and I reached out to pat it but it ran away. it came back a second later so I leaned over the fence slowly and put out my hand to pat it.. which is when I got my butt nibbled on by the deer. I giggled and patted it and moved his head away from me and went back to the baby.. I got nibbled on again, and again, and when i didn't react, I got a nice headbutt quarely between the cheeks. The baby deer wasn't having any of my non food inclusive hand, so I gave up at that point anyway and started walking toward the ibex (but not and ibex) on the other side of the inclosure. Our two deer friends came with us. We then started planning a "break out" with them. they were to meet us on the other side of the gate as we were leaving and we'd let them jump into the convertable and make a break for it. They just kept walking along side us. It was really cute. When we got to the last food dispensory, we stopped to see if there was anything under the flippy lid, but there wasn't (those deer know where their food is) and the hubster was afraid they would try to follow us out of the enclosure.. So I told the deer to "wait there' and we went toward the door, and they did. It was a good chuckle. We went out.. saw the "ibex".. and some "water buffelo" <- they were HUGE.. some more llamas.. the reptile cage, and that was basically it. we walked back, saw the klingon duck again, went into the wild bird area where "mr. burns" the crain was out side the fenced in area. its amazing how much (from the back) that crain looked like mr burns from the simpsons.. We went back towards the entrance, and the bunnies were still trying to 'make a break for it'. We went over to sanford to go to chunkys for 'lunch' but it was 2pm and the movies we were interested in didn't start till 4.. and we weren't all THAT interested, so we just went to subway. The woman there asked if we had just been at the zoo. I thought she was phsyic till I realized we still had the zoo stamps on our hands... although mine faces down so when I look at it I see OOZ.. :)

I had a mediterainian chicken sandwich. the chick who built it built it so badly that it was hard to eat.. but I found a way.. Went to Renaissance Greetings outlet. Got a few note cards, and some pumpkin earrings and a mug that has my name in many different languages.. Went to home depo to get a new water filter. We are on a well, and our water is full of sediment (STILL.. ugh) and the filter we have broke. we were going to go grocery shopping afterwards but my legs were really aching, and I was getting tired, so we headed home, took a nap, then went out to dinner at a pizzaria I hadn't visited in YEARS but is right in town.. then grocery shopping. Our grand total was 122$ and after coupons and bottle slips paid 88$ I love that.

Today I REALLY need to do my homework.. I have a speech due monday afternoon.. where I actually have to speak it. ugh.. and my spreadsheet homework is also due.. so that is the plan for the day. Its an exercise day as well... but I think I'll put that off till tomorrow when I get home from L2.. :)

I have an interview on mondayl... and haven't I been in a tizzy about that one.. cause on one hand Im not really ready to go back to work, and the hours are till 8pm m-f.. but on the other its in a feild I think I could really really love, the money is incredible and the benifits are outstanding. so I suppose Im in a pretty good position.. if I get it.. great.. if I don't.. great.. :)

the kittens are going back on tuesday.. *sob*.. I still have to talk myself out of keeping them all cause there is no way we could handle 9 cats in this house full time :)

can't sleep.. clown will eat me.. can't sleep.. clown will eat me..

ok.. so there is no clown, and I know even if there was, he wouldn't eat me.. but I still can't sleep. although I must admit Im a bit more tired now than I was when I crawled out of bed an hour ago. I have class tomorrow. Ive done my home work - aren't I such a good girl.. but I still dont want to go. yup.. Im weird.

Something has felt really out of sorts with my life lately.. like a piece of energy is missing. No.. Im not all that much into karma and energy fields, but yes, I have had a number of precongnitive things happen to me, so Im an energy kinda girl. and somethings wonky... and I don't really think its the trivialness that is neo.. Hope everyone I know is ok..

I should probably reinstall ICQ. No idea why I haven't done it since reformating. Probably cause its always a pain.sigh. I think I'll do that and then head off to bed and give this sleeping thing the ol' college try once again.

lets see.. what have I been up to? not much. volunteering, working out, sleeping, kittens.. just so you know, kittens do not like canned air, and they do like curtians.. :) there is something about a 2.4lb kitten that makes it bust out of the confines of the room its in and run like a bullet down the hall and under some piece of furniture so you forget about it so it can explore.. its ever so cute. Charlie is at this very moment in the kitchen looking under the refridgerator. something has caught his interest. Jenna earlier caught her tooth on the curtians.. and the day before caught her claw in another set. You'd think she'd learn to leave them alone.. but noooo.. :) I really love these guys.. they are so cute, and friendly and sweet, and surprisingly clean.. I wish I could keep them all, but that so wouldn't be feasable. I hope who ever takes them treats them VERY well. JENNA.. stop trying to open the fridge doors!! *giggle* Jack has become Rocky's idol. she's been following him around all day.

Last night we went to the movies. went to the spiderman/MIBII double feature. It was fun. Id seen them both before, but they were good and worth seeing again. I think this is the first time Ive gone to see a movie a second time in a theatre. it was a long long evening though.. my butt was very soar when we got home. Well the house is an aboslute sty (except the kitten room..go figure) should probably go do something about that.. Thinking about going to the garlic festivle next saturday.. but its kinda far away.. so who knows.
